Nineteen nations expected on Morocco's Atlantic coast

The second ISF World School Golf Championship is scheduled for 2–8 November 2026 at Golf de Tazegzout in Taghazout, near Agadir, Morocco. On 28 October, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) announced that 19 nations are expected to take part. Both the host federation and the International School Sport Federation (ISF) confirm the event's location and dates. This is a preview: no 2026 scores or winners exist yet.

The inaugural championship took place in Rabat in July 2025, at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam. It brought together 64 student-athletes from 16 nations and regions across four continents. This year the competition moves to Morocco's Atlantic coast, giving the country's youth-golf programme a new international venue.

Four individual divisions, one team title

Competition will use stroke play over 72 holes, consisting of four 18-hole rounds. Individual titles are contested in four divisions: U15 girls, U15 boys, U18 girls and U18 boys.

Each team comprises four school-age golfers: one girl and one boy in each age group. Only the three lowest scores from each team count towards that day's team aggregate. This is scoring by strokes, not a points-based Stableford event, and it is important not to confuse the individual categories with the team title.

The venue, Golf de Tazegzout, is an 18-hole, par-72 layout designed by Kyle Phillips and measuring more than 6,700 metres. The course overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The dates 2–8 November describe the event week, including educational and cultural activities; they should not be mistaken for seven days of competitive rounds. Organisers may adjust the daily programme.

Defending champions on home soil

Morocco returns as defending world school team champion. At the first edition in 2025, Sofia Cherif Essakali, Saad Ahalouch, Mohamed Baouhamou and Salma El Hali produced a team total of 10 under par, finishing ahead of Thailand and Chinese Taipei.

Morocco also collected three individual titles last year. Essakali won the U18 girls' division, Hicham Rachidi the U18 boys' division, and Baouhamou the U15 boys' division. Those are 2025 achievements, not projected results for the coming tournament. The confirmed 2026 starting lists and eventual scores must be assessed separately.

Sport, education and the next generation

Beyond the four competitive rounds, the week includes an opening ceremony, ISF Academy sessions, a cultural day and Nations Night. The organising federation sees school golf as a way to expand participation, develop national talent and create exchanges among students from different countries.

Morocco is also scheduled to host the championship in 2028, extending the hosting partnership already established around the inaugural event.

What to watch: the final country line-up, confirmed players in all four divisions, and whether Morocco can successfully defend its team title on a different course. The article will not assume a result before the championship begins.
