Davao, Philippines — 28 October 2026. Korean-American golfer Micah Shin extended his lead at the ICTSI Apo Golf Classic after Wednesday's second round at Apo Golf and Country Club. A four-under-par 68 took him to 134 strokes (−10) through 36 holes, four ahead of his closest challenger. The Philippine Golf Tour's official leaderboard confirms the numbers. With two rounds still to play, Shin is the halfway leader—not the tournament winner.

Official standings after round two

  • 1. Micah Shin — 66 + 68 = 134 (−10).
  • 2. Clyde Mondilla — 69 + 69 = 138 (−6), four shots behind.
  • 3. Sean Jean Ramos — 70 + 69 = 139 (−5), five behind.
  • T4. Kim Tae Soo and Jeremy Tandoy — 70 + 70 = 140 (−4).

These are stroke totals, not ranking points. The figures in parentheses describe each player's score relative to par across two rounds; a score of ten under does not by itself establish how many birdies were made.

A steadier score on a difficult second day

Shin's opening 66 (−6) had given him a three-shot cushion over Mondilla. He did not match that round on Wednesday, but his 68 (−4) was enough to increase the advantage to four. A Philippine Star report dated 28 October describes a challenging start from the tenth tee, with birdies and bogeys temporarily allowing the chasing group to approach.

A birdie at the 16th helped settle matters before an eagle on the par-5 18th restored momentum. Shin described using a 4-iron for his second shot from roughly 230 yards, finding the green and holing a putt of about 15 feet. He nevertheless acknowledged that his ball-striking was less consistent than on the opening day and highlighted several important par saves.

Mondilla and Ramos remain in pursuit

Clyde Mondilla, fresh from winning the preceding Philippine Golf Tour stop, has now recorded back-to-back 69s and sits alone in second. He remains within reach with 36 holes left. Sean Jean Ramos is one stroke further back after improving to a second-round 69. Kim Tae Soo and Jeremy Tandoy share fourth place on 140.

Apo is a familiar venue for Shin, who practised there while growing up. His 2026 season already includes a January victory at The Country Club Invitational, but the course can still punish a loose approach or missed putt. The lead is meaningful, not unassailable.

What to watch next

The ICTSI Apo Golf Classic runs from 27 to 30 October 2026. This is a stroke-play event, decided by the lowest aggregate number of strokes, not match-play holes won. Rounds three and four will determine whether Shin converts his halfway advantage into another title.

Verification: Official PGT tournament leaderboard and Philippine Star's 28 October round-two report. The 134 (−10) total comes from the official round-by-round scorecard (66 + 68); an inconsistent total circulated in some reports has not been repeated here.
