The national junior final reaches Nanjing
The competitive rounds of the 2026 HSBC National Junior Golf Championship Final began on 28 October at Suning Zhongshan International Golf Club in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. The event is organised by the China Golf Association (CGA), with registration on 27 October and the decisive rounds scheduled to conclude on 30 October. Reports released on 29 October describe opening-round results, not the tournament's final standings.
Wu Yuming makes an early move
In Boys C (ages 10–12), Wu Yuming (吴昱铭) returned 69 (three under par) for a three-stroke opening-round lead over Li Jiarun, who shot 72 (even par). Wu followed a level-par front nine with three consecutive birdies at holes 11–13 and an eagle at the 15th, where his second shot found the hole. That is an eagle from a second-shot hole-out, not a hole-in-one.
Defending Boys A (ages 16–18) champion Yang Mingyuan (杨明源) led his division after a level-par 72. His card included six birdies, four bogeys and a closing double bogey. Zhu Junkai finished one stroke back at 73 (+1). Boys B (ages 13–15) had joint leaders, Zhao Ziqian and Liu Dawei, both on 71 (−1).
Tight races in the girls' divisions
In Girls A, Chen Ziyi (陈梓伊) recorded five birdies in an opening 71 (−1), putting her two ahead of Xia Ziqing, who shot 73 (+1). Girls B was even closer: Xu Jingya, Chen Jinmo and Hou Peiqi shared the opening-day lead after rounds of 76 (+4).
In the youngest Girls D (ages 6–9) division, Li Jiaxuan shot 74 (+2) for a one-stroke advantage. Event coverage notes that she had already won four HSBC Junior events this season. A fifth victory remained a target, not a result, when the opening-round report was published.
Eight age divisions, two different distances
Under the published CGA competition regulations, Boys and Girls A, B and C compete over 54 holes across three rounds of gross stroke play. The youngest D groups play 36 holes in all, an 18-hole first round followed by two nine-hole rounds. The regulations cap total entries at 116, but that cap should not be mistaken for the number of players who actually started.
A first-place tie is settled by a hole-by-hole playoff. Subject to the relevant eligibility requirements, performances can count towards Chinese junior rankings and the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). The CGA-organised final is supported by HSBC and the Jiangsu Golf Association.
Timing matters: every player score cited here is from 28 October, reported on 29 October. With the final scheduled for 30 October, none of these opening-round leaders can yet be described as the overall champion.
