UAE names seven golfers for the Arab championships in Doha

3 November 2026. The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) has confirmed that the United Arab Emirates will send both men's and women's national teams to the Arab Golf Championships in Doha, Qatar. A report issued on Tuesday by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) identifies the events as the 45th Arab Men's Golf Championship and the 17th Arab Women's Golf Championship, with competitions hosted at Doha Golf Club. The latest UAE delegation announcement gives 4–11 November as the overall period and says the delegation will travel to Qatar on Wednesday, 4 November. This is an advance announcement, not a report of tournament results.

Four men and three women in the confirmed team

The men's squad comprises Mohammad Skaik, Neyl Cherrat, Sam Mullane (also rendered Wissam Moulan) and Jonathan Selvaraj. The women's squad consists of Aasiya Saleem, Intissar Rich and Lara El Chaib. These seven names were provided in the report published from Dubai on 3 November. Spellings of names transliterated from Arabic can vary across news outlets.

The delegation is headed by Major General (Ret.) Abdullah Al Sayed Al Hashemi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation. He is joined by federation Secretary-General Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi and coach Faycal Serghini.

A national-team story, separate from professional tour golf

The significance of this selection is its focus on both the men's and women's national programmes. It is a separate event from the Arab junior and girls' championship held in Cairo in October. That earlier championship involved different age categories and line-ups; its results must not be carried over to the November competition in Qatar.

The Doha championships also sit outside the headline professional DP World Tour events hosted by Abu Dhabi and Dubai. For a national federation, the Arab championships provide a measure of regional competition and an opportunity for players to gain experience representing their country. Al Shamsi told the UAE media that the federation aims to support its men's and women's teams on an equal footing and hopes for competitive performances in Doha. Those ambitions are not, of course, results.

What is confirmed, and what is not

As of 3 November, seven named team members, the Doha Golf Club venue and the planned men's and women's championships are confirmed in the UAE announcement. The official rounds have not yet produced results, and no November scores or medals should be attributed to these players. An older Qatar Olympic Committee calendar entry lists different dates for the men's event; the precise round-by-round programme should therefore be checked against fresh official start sheets and host updates.
