A presenting sponsor, not a new title sponsor
On November 2, the PGA TOUR confirmed that Compliance Solutions will become the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Austin Championship. The competition runs November 12–15, 2026, at the Fazio Canyons Course at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas, within a tournament week starting November 9. The announcement comes shortly before competition begins and removes an important uncertainty surrounding the new FedExCup Fall event.
The distinction in sponsorship terminology matters. A presenting sponsor is not necessarily a title sponsor. The event is now officially styled the Austin Championship presented by Compliance Solutions. Neither the value of the agreement nor a replacement multi-year title-sponsorship contract was announced.
Why the tournament needed a new partner
The original plan was for the Good Good Championship, linking a PGA TOUR event with a golf media and entertainment brand that built a large online following. In August, Good Good withdrew from the sponsorship after criticism of an advertising video made with Callaway. A joint statement released on August 27 confirmed the withdrawal while making clear that the tournament would proceed on schedule. Golf Channel also canceled the related Big Break project.
That decision did not cancel professional golf's return to Austin, but it left the event's commercial presentation uncertain. The November 2 announcement is an official PGA TOUR decision, rather than speculation about negotiations.
An established relationship, expanded
Compliance Solutions is already involved across professional golf. It has supported its namesake Korn Ferry Tour event since 2023 and has served as presenting sponsor of the Stifel Charity Classic on PGA TOUR Champions since 2025. In 2026 it also backed the Route 66 Cup and Sprint to St. Louis competitions. The Austin arrangement therefore expands an existing commercial relationship rather than introducing a sponsor unfamiliar with the TOUR.
The Austin Championship is scheduled as 72-hole stroke play, not match play, with a projected 120-player field, 500 FedExCup points for the winner and an advertised $6 million purse. The format distinguishes it from the World Golf Championships match-play event formerly held in Austin.
Local impact beyond the leaderboard
The PGA TOUR named Play Yellow and Folds of Honor among the event's main charitable beneficiaries. Play Yellow raises support for children's hospitals, including initiatives connected with Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin. The new presenting sponsorship gives organizers a clearer platform to promote these causes, though the announcement did not disclose a precise charitable funding commitment.
Fazio Canyons has undergone significant renovations with involvement from its original designer, Tom Fazio. For the TOUR, the return to Austin after the city's previous World Golf Championships event ended in 2023 adds another stop to a late-season calendar in which eligible players are still competing for valuable standing and opportunities.
What remains unresolved
The agreement does not establish that Compliance Solutions will become title sponsor in later seasons. The official announcement applies to the 2026 presenting sponsorship; contract value and long-term terms were not disclosed. The sporting contest has not started, so participant announcements, projected points and pre-event expectations must not be confused with a leaderboard or a final result. Opening competition is scheduled for November 12, with the final round on November 15.
Reporting is based on the PGA TOUR's official announcement on November 2, its August 27 statement with Good Good, and the official Austin Championship website.
