Singapore's next junior Super 6 is scheduled for 3 November as rankings shape squad selection

SGA's Super 6 Shootout calendar lists an eighth leg at Orchid Country Club on 27 October and a ninth on 3 November. How six-hole events feed Singapore's youth ranking and 2027 development squads.

Singapore's SGA–BFG Super 6 Shootout junior series is approaching the closing stretch of its 2026 calendar. The eighth leg was scheduled for 27 October at Orchid Country Club, for Division B, while the ninth leg is scheduled for 3 November, covering Divisions A and C. Both appear in the Singapore Golf Association's official junior development calendar. Golf Genius independently listed the 27 October competition at Orchid's Aranda course over six holes. Verified final scores for that leg were not available from the accessible competition records, so this report does not name winners.

Three age bands, one development pathway

The Singapore Golf Association (SGA) operates the Junior Development Order of Merit (JDOOM) for eligible golfers aged five to fourteen. Ages are determined as at 1 January 2026: Division A covers 12–14, Division B 9–11, and Division C 5–8. Boys and girls have separate rankings. This explains why the late-October leg was set aside for B players and the early-November event for A and C, rather than being a single mixed-age championship.

The SGA places the Super 6 Shootout legs in Tier 4 of its points structure. A winner earns 900 JDOOM ranking points, the runner-up 500 and third place 350. These are seasonal ranking points, not strokes taken, and must not be confused with Stableford scores. The official regulations also specify how points are shared when players tie.

A route toward Singapore's future squads

The points matter beyond an individual event. Under the published regulations, JDOOM standings are used to select or requalify golfers for the 2027 SGA Future Squad, subject to age eligibility. The allocations include the top ten boys and top ten girls in Division B, and the top six boys and top six girls in Division C. Division A provides a separate qualifying route toward the Junior Development Squad, subject to the stated conditions. Winning one six-hole leg does not automatically guarantee a national squad place; the season's rankings and eligibility rules determine the outcome.

The same calendar also lists a tenth Super 6 leg on 17 November for Division B and a Grand Final whose date remains unconfirmed. The SGA cautions that event dates can change. These forthcoming starts should therefore be treated as scheduled rather than completed.

Why a six-hole event still matters

Short-format competition can provide a manageable setting for young golfers to build their tournament routines, decision-making and confidence. Orchid Country Club lies beside the Lower Seletar Reservoir. Its Aranda loop is a nine-hole course known for broad fairways, large greens and water features; Golf Genius's six-hole listing describes the particular junior event, not the full Aranda course.

As of 30 October 2026, the federation's calendar and the Golf Genius listing substantiate the dates, divisions and October venue. We have not independently verified the 27 October finishing positions or scores. The next planned leg is 3 November.
