PGA TOUR announced on 26 October 2026 that Brian Gordon has joined PGA TOUR Studios as executive producer and head of live content. The appointment concerns more than a change in the production credits: it puts an experienced sports television executive in charge of how live professional golf is presented to audiences.
According to the Tour, Gordon will steer the editorial vision and creative execution of more than 4,000 hours of live programming associated with PGA TOUR LIVE on the ESPN App, PGA TOUR Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour. The brief also covers newer viewing formats, including the featured-group experience Marquee Group: Quiet Please and the betting-oriented Betcast presented by DraftKings. In practical terms, the role spans the main live product as well as the experiments designed to give different audiences different ways to follow a tournament.
Gordon started on 26 October and reports to Luis Goicouria, PGA TOUR Studios’ executive vice president and general manager. The incoming producer inherits a platform already broadening its reach. In 2026, PGA TOUR LIVE coverage of The Sentry and the FedExCup Playoffs expanded onto ESPN’s linear channels. The Tour says it wants to build on such opportunities in 2027 and beyond, although it has not announced specific new viewer features as part of Gordon’s arrival.
His background is unusually wide-ranging. A two-time Sports Emmy winner with over three decades in sports broadcasting, Gordon most recently served as global head of programming and audience at Motorsport Network. At the National Women’s Soccer League, he oversaw more than 300 live broadcasts and worked with distribution partners including CBS, ESPN and Prime Video. His earlier experience also includes the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and NBC Sports.
The appointment follows September’s hiring of Ryan Holcomb as senior vice president and head of original content. Together, the two positions underscore PGA TOUR Studios’ dual ambition: to strengthen coverage of live competition while developing storytelling beyond tournament rounds. Whether viewers see a better product will ultimately be determined by the broadcasts themselves, not the job titles.
