Two Dutch winners at Houtrak
Golfclub Houtrak in Halfweg, North Holland, hosted the GJG Francine Saxton Trophy from 23 to 25 October 2026. Part of the international Global Junior Golf series for junior and young adult golfers, the event produced two Dutch overall winners: Ischa Wichman and Solinne Kuiper. The boys' competition required a playoff, while the girls' winner repeated her success from 2025.
Wichman edges Janssens in a playoff
Playing for host club Houtrak, Wichman posted rounds of 74, 77 and 75 for 226 strokes, ten over par. Dean Janssens, representing Hilversumsche Golfclub, returned 76, 76 and 74 to match him at 226 (+10). The organisers explicitly identify Wichman as the playoff winner. They do not specify how many extra holes were played or describe the deciding putt, so those details should not be assumed.
Wichman had led Janssens by one shot after 36 holes, 151 to 152. A closing 74 by Janssens against Wichman's 75 eliminated that advantage and forced the playoff. Jesse van Dooren of Houtrak took third with rounds of 75, 75 and 82, totaling 232 (+16). Ties Wolters placed fourth at 235 (+19).
Kuiper wins for a second consecutive year
Solinne Kuiper, also of Houtrak, won the girls' overall competition with rounds of 75, 78 and 85, totaling 238 (+22). Runner-up Marie Martin, representing Germany and GC Bostalsee, finished on 248 (+32), giving Kuiper a ten-stroke winning margin. Jade Kampstra and Demi Nieuwenhuizen were level on 250 (+34) in the next position on the published leaderboard.
This result carries particular significance for Kuiper: Global Junior Golf's own tournament archive lists her as the 2025 girls' winner as well. The final-round 85 was her highest score of the three days, but she nevertheless retained the title with a comfortable overall margin.
An international event with a local story
The event page identifies connections with the WAGR and JGR rankings as well as the Global Junior Golf Order of Merit. It lists age divisions U14, U18 and U23; not every entrant is necessarily under 18, and the event should not be confused with a Dutch national NGF championship.
Official result sheets list 16 names in the boys' field and nine in the girls' field, including entrants who did not complete every round. Both overall winners belong to the host club, making this an especially notable result for the Halfweg golfing community. Names, scores, club affiliations, standings and the playoff outcome have been checked against Global Junior Golf's official event page and live-scoring tables.
