Vallarta, Mexico, 1 November 2026. Norway's Kristoffer Ventura finished the VidantaWorld Mexico Open with a bogey-free 63, reaching 20 under par and sharing second place with Steven Fisk. Winner Andrew Novak finished at 25 under.
Leaving the projected points alone
In his official post-round comments, Ventura said he had stopped continuously checking the leaderboard and projected FedExCup Fall points. He entered the event ranked 108th and had come to terms with the possibility of missing out on full PGA TOUR status for 2027. Rather than reacting to every change in the standings, he focused on his preparation, shot execution and personal routine.
He did not suggest that ignoring the rankings guarantees a good score. The comments described a personal shift in emphasis after several weeks in which good play had not always delivered the result he wanted.
A calm finish, and a card secured
Ventura praised his ball-striking, the putts he holed when required and his composure late in the final round. The shared runner-up finish was his best individual PGA TOUR result. It lifted him from 108th to 76th in the FedExCup Fall standings, provisionally inside the top 100. That strengthened his prospects of retaining full playing privileges for 2027, but the final standings and exemptions will be determined after the remaining autumn events.
