The HotelPlanner Tour Grand Final completed its third round on Saturday, 31 October, at Club de Golf Alcanada in Mallorca. France’s Julien Sale kept the outright lead after a two-under 70, moving to 201 strokes (−15) through 54 holes. Three players are one behind: England’s Charlie Forster, American John Catlin and South African MJ Daffue, all on 202 (−14). These are completed third-round standings, not the final outcome; the last 18 holes are scheduled for 1 November.

A compressed battle for the title

Sale started Saturday on −13 after Friday’s seven-under 65, a round containing ten birdies and three bogeys. Saturday demanded a different kind of patience. He birdied the opening hole, bogeyed the fifth and rescued par on the seventh after an errant tee shot and an unplayable lie. Further birdies on 11 and 15 helped him reach −15. He retained his lead, but his margin did not grow.

The chasers had stronger scoring rounds. Forster shot 66 (−6), Catlin 68 (−4) and Daffue 67 (−5) to finish together at −14. With only one stroke separating the first four players, the Sunday contest remains open: a single birdie or bogey can reshape the leaderboard. It would be inaccurate to describe Sale as champion before the final round.

The bigger prize: promotion

The Grand Final is the 28th and final event of the 2026 Road to Mallorca. A field of 45 began the week pursuing the tournament trophy and 15 DP World Tour cards for 2027, determined by the season-long rankings, not simply by finishing inside the top 15 of this event. The points available in Mallorca can change the promotion cutline.

Sale has already secured his promotion through his season’s results. He can also become the first French golfer since Mike Lorenzo-Vera in 2007 to end the season top of the Road to Mallorca Rankings. Other competitors face far less certainty; a single place gained or lost may matter to their future playing status. Projected rankings are not final cards.

What is confirmed

The score and Saturday’s account were checked against the HotelPlanner Tour’s official report dated 31 October. Fifty-four holes are complete, but the champion and the final 15 graduates will not be known until Sunday’s play is finished. Further updates should follow a genuinely new confirmed result, rather than restating a provisional table.
