The GOLFIESTA Ranglistaverseny was held on 23 October 2026 at Old Lake Golf Club in Tata, Hungary. The event appears in the competition system of the Hungarian Golf Federation (Magyar Golf Szövetség, MGSZ). According to the official GOLFiGO results, 47 golfers completed the 18-hole ranking competition. Hatvári Árpád Hugó led the combined gross classification with 75 strokes, five over the course par of 70.
The gross leaderboard
Hatvári finished two strokes ahead of Hideg János, who returned 77 (+7). Bodor Sándor was third with 78 (+8). Those figures are gross scores: actual strokes played, with no handicap adjustment. In a separate event-series points table, the leading three earned 1,000, 880 and 820 points, respectively. Those are series ranking points, not strokes or World Amateur Golf Ranking points.
A field spanning generations
The organisers also held handicap-adjusted net stroke-play divisions. Among adult men, Kovács László Zsolt topped the net classification with 68, ahead of Bibity Zsolt (71) and Bartha Konrád (72). Mező Ágnes won the women's net division with 68, followed by Movik Gabriella (69) and Lengyel Lilla (71).
The senior men's net winner was Csillag Péter with 64; Lotfi Farbod recorded 66 and Bognár László 68. In the combined boys' and girls' junior net division, Képes Kira won with 74, ahead of Lohn Abigél (80) and Farkas Lia (81). Net scores should not be mistaken for the gross strokes actually played: the playing handicap is applied to calculate them.
Two competitors outside the ranking classifications were scored in net Stableford points, a different scoring system. Tompa Benedek Márton recorded 30 points and Facsády Alexander Gábriel 23. Their figures must not be compared directly with stroke-play totals.
How the Hungarian ranking event worked
The published results list 17 adult men, seven women, 17 senior men, four juniors and two non-ranking entrants — 47 players in all. The competition used individual 18-hole stroke play, with a maximum permitted gross score on each hole of par plus five under its competition conditions. The round was also handicap qualifying: the recorded handicap index of Kovács changed from 19.2 to 18.7, Mező from 17.0 to 16.5, and Csillag from 20.9 to 19.9.
For local golf in Hungary, the significance lies in the structure as much as in the winner. One official ranking event brought together different generations at the same venue while preserving a clear distinction between gross performance, handicap-adjusted net results and series ranking points. The numbers also demonstrate why those scoring formats should never be conflated.
