France crowned its 2026 Minimes national golf champions after two four-round events held on 17–20 October. The Minimes category covers players born in 2010 or 2011. The girls competed at Golf de Biarritz Le Phare on the Atlantic coast; the boys played at Grand Saint-Émilionnais Golf Club near Bordeaux. Victoire Bizet and Davon Duboc emerged with the national titles, but they reached the podium by very different routes.
Girls: a comeback settled beyond 72 holes
At the par-69 Biarritz venue, the Trophée Ginette Dubois was still undecided after regulation play. Victoire Bizet, representing Golf Club de Lyon, finished four rounds on 284 strokes, eight over par — level with Julianne Pierrat of Chantilly. The French Golf Federation (ffgolf) records Bizet's decisive closing rounds of 66 and 69, which brought her back into contention.
Regional outlet Golf Rhône-Alpes adds important context: halfway through the competition, Bizet was around 20th place and eight strokes adrift of the lead. Her 66 in round three and level-par 69 on the final day changed the race. Bizet then prevailed against Pierrat in the playoff, making the championship an exceptionally close contest. Colombe Dousset, of Île d’Or, took third place at +10. The extra 73rd hole, rather than the standard 72-hole total alone, ultimately settled the title.
Boys: four consecutive rounds under par
The boys' championship, contested at Grand Saint-Émilionnais in the Bordeaux region, required no playoff for first place. Davon Duboc of Golf de Saint-Cloud returned an under-par score in each of his four rounds and completed the event at −11. His final-round 67 (−5) sealed the Yan Le Quellec trophy.
The battle for the remaining medals was narrower. Louis Le Sager from Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche took silver and Louis Chazalmartin from Golf Club de Toulouse bronze after both finished at −9. The federation reports that a tie-breaking procedure decided their order; they were two strokes behind Duboc. It is important not to confuse that medal tiebreak with the girls' playoff for the actual title.
What the championships tell us
These were domestic French junior championships, not overseas appearances by French professionals. The competing clubs span Lyon, Saint-Cloud, Chantilly, Île d’Or, Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche and Toulouse, while the host venues demonstrate the regional reach of France's competitive junior pathway.
The striking contrast is between Bizet's late recovery and playoff victory and Duboc's consistent sub-par performance across every round. Both outcomes were confirmed in the federation's report published on 21 October 2026.
