Brazil have named both five-player national squads for Copa Los Andes 2026. On 27 October, the Confederação Brasileira de Golfe (CBGolfe) confirmed the ten golfers selected for the 80th South American Team Golf Championship. The event is scheduled for 25–28 November at Lima Golf Club, Peru. Brazil are the subject of this selection story; the tournament itself takes place in Peru.
Men's selection and last year's benchmark
The men's team comprises Herik Machado, Eduardo Matarazzo, Guilherme Grinberg, Matheus Balestrin and Guilherme Yoshikawa. Pedro Garcia will be captain, with André Conolly as coach and Rossana Quessa as physiotherapist.
Brazil were runners-up in the 2025 men's competition in Ecuador, behind winners Colombia. The 2026 line-up brings together five prominent names from Brazilian amateur golf. Selection, however, is not a promise that every golfer will play every session: pairings and singles line-ups are decided by the team according to the day's opponents and matches.
Women's five seek an improved finish
The women's squad is Maitri Peychaux, Eduarda Roggero, Maria Eduarda Rocha, Maria Antônia Gavião and Beatriz Menga. Octavio Villar is captain, supported by coach Vinicius Muller and physiotherapist Eliane Balestrin.
Brazil's women finished eighth at the 2025 edition. Peru won that title and will defend it as the host nation in November. Brazil will be aiming for a better team finish, but no outcome of the 2026 competition is known before play begins.
How Copa Los Andes is played
On the same day as Brazil's announcement, organiser Federación Sudamericana de Golf (FESG) published the draw and starting schedule for four days of competition. Copa Los Andes is decided through team match play, not by adding up individual stroke-play totals.
The schedule includes foursomes and singles. In foursomes, two partners share one ball and alternate shots. That is different from four-ball, in which each partner plays their own ball. Singles matches pit one golfer directly against another. Results contribute points to the national standings; men's and women's titles are awarded separately. Match-play scores must not be described as totals of strokes.
FESG's schedule has the men's groups starting from hole 1, and the women's groups from hole 10. Lima Golf Club is hosting Copa Los Andes for the eighth time. The venue also staged the 2024 Women's Amateur Latin America and the Latin America Amateur Championship in January 2026.
What comes next
CBGolfe president Eudes Orleans e Bragança is the delegation's representative. The rosters are confirmed, but specific match combinations, results and final positions will only be settled once play starts on 25 November. Competition runs through 28 November.
