A third title built on three consistent rounds
Fifteen-year-old Vietnamese golfer Nguyễn Viết Gia Hân secured the third leg of the Hanwha Life – VGA Junior Tour 2026, staged 16–18 October at Vinpearl Golf Léman in Tân Thông Hội, Ho Chi Minh City. Her rounds of 73, 66 and 68 added up to 207 strokes, nine under par for 54 holes. The victory was her third title in the national junior tour system; that description does not mean she has won three events during the 2026 season alone.
More than 60 young golfers from Vietnam and other countries in the region competed. The event was a significant outing for Vinpearl Golf Léman, a new venue for this level of national junior competition. For the eventual champion, it was the closing-round contest rather than any single highlight-reel shot that defined the victory.
Level after 36 holes
Gia Hân and Anna Le reached the final round tied at five under par. Gia Hân had followed an opening 73 with a six-under 66, wiping out the ground she had lost on day one and earning a share of the lead. Neither player began the final 18 holes with an advantage.
On the front nine, Gia Hân made four birdies and one bogey, a three-under stretch that moved her tournament total to −8. Anna Le countered with three birdies and two bogeys on the same nine holes. The difference was that Gia Hân converted more of her opportunities while limiting dropped shots.
A further birdie on the 17th hole helped Gia Hân close out a four-under 68, bringing her three-round total to −9. Anna Le made five birdies and five bogeys in her final round, an even-par 72. She finished runner-up on −5, four shots behind. This was a stroke-play event, so the decisive margin is measured in strokes, not match-play holes or ranking points.
The rest of the leaderboard
Nguyễn Quốc Bảo Huy finished third overall after producing a final-round 66 (−6). That score matched Đỗ Đức Khang’s opening-day 66 and Gia Hân’s second-round 66. Three players therefore posted conspicuously low rounds on different days, but the championship depended on cumulative performance across all 54 holes.
The competition belonged to the VGA Junior Tour programme, administered by the Vietnam Golf Association, rather than the separate national junior championship. The distinction matters in evaluating an athlete’s competitive record and the meaning of a tour-stage victory.
The season continues in December
The Hanwha Life – VGA Junior Tour Final Championship is scheduled for 26–27 December 2026 at Trang An Golf & Resort. Gia Hân’s third tour title strengthens her credentials heading towards that event without predetermining the season’s overall ranking.
The results were cross-checked against the VGA’s official event report and contemporary Vietnamese golf coverage dated 18–19 October. The arithmetic is consistent: 73 + 66 + 68 = 207, nine strokes below the combined 216 par for the three rounds. The reported leaderboard totals refer to strokes and relation to par.
