South Africa, 29 October 2026. Wandré Snyman won Betway Big Easy Tour 9, contested from 27–29 October at CMR Golf Club in Johannesburg. Three rounds of 66, 66 and 67 gave the South African 199 strokes, 17 under par on the par-72 course, enough to finish one shot ahead of two challengers.

A one-stroke victory

Snyman started the final day tied with amateur Jonathan Wilsenach on 132 (12 under) after 36 holes. He made birdies at the second, fourth and sixth holes, then added birdies at the 14th and 15th. A bogey at the 16th reduced his cushion, but a final birdie at the 18th completed a five-under 67 and a total of 199.

The chasing pack was formidable. England's Corey Sheppard closed with a 63, while South Africa's Ethan Govender returned a 64. They shared second place at 200 (16 under), a single stroke behind Snyman. Four players, including Wilsenach, tied for fourth at 201 (15 under).

What it means on South Africa's development tour

The Big Easy Tour is an important competitive route for emerging professional golfers seeking experience and progress towards the Sunshine Tour. It provides regular stroke-play tournaments where consistent scoring matters across a season, rather than merely a single round.

The tour's published season statistics at the time of reporting credited Snyman with two tournament victories and 11 top-ten finishes from 17 starts. His Johannesburg win earned him 210 Order of Merit points; these ranking points should not be confused with prize money. The result adds another competitive benchmark for a player already prominent in the season-long standings.

The venue matters too. CMR Golf Club, in the Maraisburg area of west Johannesburg, confirms it is an 18-hole, par-72 course. This was a domestic South African tournament, rather than an overseas result by a South African national.

The next opportunity

The tour's schedule lists Betway Big Easy Tour 10 for 10–12 November. Snyman's win strengthens his season, but a single event victory should not be described as automatically securing a Sunshine Tour card; promotion depends on the tour's qualification framework and final standings.
