Two wedding ceremonies in Maui

American professional golfer Sahith Theegala has married content creator Julianna “Juju” Chan in Hawaii. The celebrations were held on October 23 and 24, 2026, at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. The couple shared details in a People interview published on October 26. This is a personal milestone rather than a PGA TOUR tournament result or a change to his playing schedule.

They held a Hindu ceremony on Friday, followed by a Western-style ceremony on Saturday. Approximately 115 guests attended. Two separate events enabled the families to honour different cultural traditions while celebrating the same marriage.

A connection forged through college sport

The pair first met at Pepperdine University in 2015. Theegala played for the golf team; Chan competed in swimming and diving. They also attended classes in sport administration. Chan said they were close friends for about seven years before their relationship began in 2022.

Their engagement took place on Kauai in October 2025. Hawaii had long been important to them, so inviting their families to Maui for the wedding was a personal choice rather than simply a resort destination.

A celebration of several cultures

The festivities reflected Theegala's Indian and Hindu roots, Chan's Chinese-American background and elements of Hawaiian culture. A welcome gathering featured Chinese dumplings and South Indian dosas. Yellow and soft pink were used for the Hindu ceremony, while the Western event featured greens and neutral tones.

Wedding organisers reported heavy rain shortly before the second ceremony, followed by clearing skies as it began. Live ukulele music was part of the gathering. These details come from participants' accounts; they are not first-hand reporting from the venue.

PGA TOUR friends in attendance

Fellow golfer Akshay Bhatia, accompanied by his wife Presleigh, and Theegala's long-time caddie Carl Smith were among the guests. Both are familiar figures in the golfer's professional circle.

Theegala earned his first PGA TOUR victory at the Fortinet Championship in September 2023, finishing on 267 strokes, 21 under par, two strokes clear of the runner-up. The figures are confirmed by the PGA TOUR's official report. No change to his tour status or future competition programme should be inferred from the marriage itself.

The newlyweds spoke about building a shared future and strengthening their families' bonds. For golf followers, the occasion offers a glimpse into the life of a well-known player beyond tournament scorecards.
