The Genesis Championship concluded in South Korea on October 25, bringing the DP World Tour's regular season to an end and settling the qualifying field for the Race to Dubai play-offs. The top 70 eligible players in the season-long standings can now turn their attention to the two events in the United Arab Emirates.

Japan's Yuto Katsuragawa provided the decisive late-season story. His victory at the Genesis Championship was his second DP World Tour title and lifted him 78 places in the Race to Dubai rankings. He had arrived in Korea outside the top 100, facing uncertainty over his full playing rights for 2027. By winning, he not only safeguarded his status but also secured entry to both November play-off tournaments.

The opening event, the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, is scheduled for November 5–8. Only the top 50 will progress from that stage to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai on November 12–15. There is still ample opportunity for the order to change: the two play-off tournaments offer 9,000 and 12,000 Race to Dubai points respectively, substantially more than a regular Back 9 event.

Two qualification thresholds matter, and they serve different purposes. A place among the leading 70 available players grants access to the play-offs, while a top-100 finish at the end of the regular season secures full DP World Tour playing rights for the following year. At season's end, the leading ten eligible players in the final Race to Dubai standings who are not already exempt can also earn PGA TOUR membership for 2027.

Korea has therefore decided who gets to chase the season's biggest prize, not who has won it. The Harry Vardon Trophy, valuable ranking points and opportunities on both major tours remain to be settled in the Emirates.
