From limited opening to six days of access

Cypress Creek Golf Course in Mobile County, Alabama, is expanding access to its new 18-hole public course. Under an official county announcement dated 28 October 2026, operations expand from four to six days a week from 1 November, Tuesday through Sunday, with published hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. These are the county's stated operating hours, not a promise of available tee times; players should confirm reservations with the course.

Located at 3700 St. Andrews Lane North, the course began limited public play on 25 September 2026. Mobile County initially restricted access while newly planted turf matured. The November change is the next operating phase, not a second grand opening or proof that every planned facility is complete.

What a round costs

The Mobile County Commission approved an interim fee schedule on 22 October. An 18-hole green fee is now $30 Tuesday–Thursday, or $40 Friday–Sunday and holidays. Nine-hole fees are $20 and $30, respectively. Carts are charged separately at $25 for 18 holes or $15 for nine. A standard weekday 18-hole round with a cart therefore totals $55; the equivalent weekend round totals $65, before any separately applicable charges.

Annual memberships cost $2,000, with an introductory $1,750 rate for the first 100 purchasers. Tournament packages and special high-school golfer rates are also offered, although the county release does not specify the latter amounts. Officials call the schedule and fees interim, so both may change as the course establishes regular operations.

A public course rebuilt on a familiar site

The new layout, designed by Jerry Pate, occupies the site of the former Linksman Golf Course, which closed in 2006. The county acquired the property in 2022 and developed the new 18-hole course alongside a driving range and a dedicated junior practice area. A permanent clubhouse is a future phase, not an already completed amenity.

One important practical detail: the county parks' main course page still displays the earlier $65 green fee including a cart and the initial limited opening days. Readers should give priority to the later 28 October county press release when comparing rates, and confirm the applicable charge and tee time before traveling. The meaningful change is easier access to a public course, with cart charges clearly separated and play still paced to protect new turf.
