Davao City, Philippines — 27 October 2026. The women's ICTSI Apo Golf Classic began with two players tied at the top. Harmie Constantino and Chanelle Avaricio each returned a two-under-par 70 at Apo Golf and Country Club, but they reached that total in very different ways. Constantino's birdie on the 18th hole secured a share of the opening-round lead after Avaricio had spent much of the day setting the pace. The completed first-round scores were checked against the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) official leaderboard; they are not final tournament results.

A fast start, then a difficult back nine

Avaricio began with birdies on holes 1 and 2 and added two more on her outward nine. Her front-nine 32 gave her a strong platform, but the course and the afternoon wind demanded more on the way home. Two bogeys at the later par-3 holes slowed her progress. A back-nine 38 left her with 32 + 38 = 70, two strokes below the course's par of 72.

Constantino arrived at exactly the same total by finishing on an upward note. Her closing birdie at No. 18 was the decisive moment in producing the overnight tie. It was a genuine change in the leaderboard, not a playoff or a change to the scoring format.

One stroke covers the leading three

South Korea's Kim Seoyun returned a 71 (−1), one behind the leaders. Princess Superal completed the first round in 73 (+1), while Yvon Bisera, Daniella Uy and amateur Johanna Uyking were among the players on 74 (+2). Sarah Ababa posted 76 (+4) and Tiffany Lee 77 (+5).

The spread illustrates how little has been settled after 18 holes. The first-round leaders have an advantage, but a single difficult stretch could reshuffle the field. The organizer's live leaderboard may already include scores from a subsequent round, so the figures in this report deliberately refer only to the finished opening round.

Why the week matters on the LPGT

The tournament is part of the concluding stretch of the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour season. Local reporting puts the women's event purse at ₱1.25 million. In the LPGT's official Order of Merit as of 23 October, Yvon Bisera led with ₱620,400 in season prize earnings, ahead of Tiffany Lee (₱583,350), Constantino (₱537,100) and Avaricio (₱504,850). These are season earnings figures, not this tournament's payouts.

Avaricio enters the event with confidence after winning the preceding ICTSI South Pacific Classic. Constantino has gained momentum from a final-hole response of her own. Their contrasting opening rounds provide the first narrative thread of a tournament in which wind, positional play off the tee and putting on the Apo greens could all become decisive.

Scoring note: The opening round was played on 27 October. Consult the LPGT's live leaderboard for subsequent rounds rather than treating these R1 scores as a current or final classification.
