The dates have changed; the advancement rules have not

The 2026 LPGA Q-Series Qualifying Stage has been moved from its original 13–16 October window to 3–6 November 2026. The LPGA's official qualifying page now displays the revised dates for Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida. The disruption followed heavy rain and unplayable conditions reported during October. This article reflects the official schedule checked on 25 October 2026.

For competitors, the critical detail is that the LPGA has kept the planned 72-hole competition and the advancement threshold of the leading 55 players and ties. This is an operational and qualification-regulation update for one tournament pathway, not a change to the R&A/USGA Rules of Golf.

Confirmed revised schedule

1 November: on-site registration and practice; 2 November: additional practice; 3–6 November: competition rounds; 7 November: reserved as a potential rain day or completion window. These are the dates on the LPGA's qualifying information page.

With less daylight in November, the LPGA says groups of four players may be used depending on field size or the weather forecast. That wording allows the committee flexibility: it does not mean all players have already been assigned to fourballs.

Who gets through the 72-hole stage?

Under the published advancement rule, the top 55 and all players tied for 55th progress to Final Qualifying. In practical terms, a tie at the boundary can increase the number of qualifiers beyond 55. Finishing inside that group does not itself award a 2027 LPGA Tour card: it secures a place in the next qualifying stage.

The Final Qualifying Stage is scheduled for 19–23 November 2026. The LPGA's official overview says the top 25 and ties at the final stage earn LPGA status for 2027. These two thresholds refer to separate competitions and should not be confused.

Why the postponement matters

The final scheduled day in Venice is 6 November; the final stage starts 13 days later, on 19 November. Athletes qualifying from Venice therefore face a compressed turnaround for travel, recovery, course preparation and equipment decisions. Their eligibility, entry procedures and responsibilities under Q-Series regulations continue to apply notwithstanding the schedule change.

The tour is publishing planned rounds, not guaranteeing that weather will permit every round to take place exactly as listed. Any future committee instruction should be checked against the latest official notice rather than inferred from the schedule alone.

What is official, and what is not

Confirmed: November 3–6 for Qualifying Stage; 72 holes scheduled; advancement for top 55 and ties; possible four-player groups; November 7 reserve day; November 19–23 for the final.

Not claimed: changes to the general Rules of Golf, a new handicap rule, or any alteration to the final-stage top-25-and-ties standard.
