The Genesis Championship cut has divided players fighting for next season’s status. Pablo Larrazábal missed the weekend, while Matteo Manassero and Sean Crocker remain able to improve their position. For them, the stakes in South Korea extend beyond a place on this week’s leaderboard.

Genesis closes the regular season. The top 100 in the Race to Dubai after Sunday earn full playing rights for 2027. The threshold has tightened from the top 110. Small movements near the boundary therefore matter, but Friday’s projections are not final standings.

Larrazábal arrived needing at least a share of second to have a chance of retaining status through this event. The Tour’s preview described his attempt to secure a twentieth consecutive season. Missing the cut removed his chance to achieve that target with a result at Genesis.

Q-School would take him back to the beginning of a long career. Sixth place there in 2007 earned his card for the following season. He won the Open de France and the Tour’s rookie award in 2008; his DP World Tour victory tally now stands at nine.

Manassero and Crocker still have two rounds in which to earn points. Making the cut is not itself a guarantee of a full card: their final positions depend on the completed tournament, not the halfway snapshot.

Losing full status does not necessarily mean losing all access to events. Players finishing 101st–110th qualify for conditional Category 18. They initially rank below Q-School graduates, and are subsequently re-ranked alongside those graduates during the season.

The next qualifying opportunity comes at INFINITUM in Spain. The published 2026 schedule places Final Stage on November 6–11, with 156 players contesting six rounds. The leading 15 and ties earn conditional Category 18 cards on the DP World Tour and full HotelPlanner Tour status for 2027.

There are consequently two separate conclusions ahead: Sunday’s standings decide full cards earned through the season, while November qualifying offers another route. Declaring every player around the top-100 boundary’s future settled after two rounds would be premature.
