Jhared Hack started 2026 with a one-way ticket from the United States to India and a clear ambition: find a route to the highest level of professional golf. On October 27, the HotelPlanner Tour highlighted the unusual journey that has brought the American into the 45-player Grand Final field in Mallorca, where promotion to the DP World Tour for 2027 will be settled.
The Indian route. Rather than beginning his season with a secure place on the European developmental circuit, Hack earned playing rights by winning the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Qualifying School. He went on to win his first event on that circuit. These were Indian-tour achievements, not HotelPlanner Tour victories — a distinction that matters when reading his record. His strong performances earned him a start at the co-sanctioned DP World PGTI Open in Delhi in March.
The round that opened the door. Hack closed the DP World PGTI Open with a 65, seven under par, sharing second place one stroke behind MJ Daffue. That finish opened up opportunities on the Road to Mallorca, the HotelPlanner Tour's season-long ranking pathway to DP World Tour membership.
At May's Italian Challenge Open at Golf Nazionale, Hack made another immediate impression. His opening 62, ten under par, featured ten birdies and no bogeys. He followed it with a 66, six under par, to maintain the halfway lead through 36 holes. But an excellent opening does not automatically produce a tournament victory: heading to the Grand Final, his official HotelPlanner Tour record stands at four top-ten finishes and zero titles.
What 28th place really means. In the Tour's official field guide dated October 23, Hack is 28th in the Road to Mallorca Rankings. Qualification is determined by the final season-long ranking, not simply a top-15 finish in the Grand Final as a standalone event. Forty-five players will compete in Mallorca, with 15 DP World Tour cards for 2027 at stake. The top seven in the rankings have already secured promotion, but Hack is not among those guaranteed places. Tournament organisers state that every member of the field still has a mathematical route to promotion.
Four rounds to change the season. The Grand Final is scheduled for October 29 to November 1 at Club de Golf Alcanada, Mallorca. Four rounds of stroke play will determine the final ranking. As of October 27, the event has not started: there is no Grand Final score for Hack and no basis for declaring his finishing position in advance.
For Hack, the opportunity represents the culmination of a season built through calculated risk. The one-way flight did not guarantee a tour card; it created the chance to earn one on the course.
