Indonesian golfer Michela Tjan claimed her first professional victory at the NXXT Women's CLPGA Qualifier, completed on 26 October 2026 at Santa Lucia River Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, United States. She posted 149 strokes (+5) across 36 holes, finishing two strokes clear of American Amelie Alcantara, and earned entry into the CLPGA Tour Championship in Haikou, China.

A 68, then a battle with the weather

Tjan opened with 68 (−4), the lowest round of the championship, and held a seven-stroke advantage after the opening round. The organiser reports that heavy rain wiped out Sunday's play and the event was reduced to 36 holes. The concluding round featured wind gusts above 35 mph. Tjan returned 81 (+9) in those conditions, but her combined 68–81 = 149 (+5) was enough.

NXXT credited her with eight birdies for the tournament. Eight birdies do not establish the final score on their own: bogeys and worse scores elsewhere on the card also count towards the total.

The official finishing order

Amelie Alcantara (United States) was runner-up with rounds of 75 and 76 for 151 (+7). Amateur Taylor Oberparleiter (United States) finished third on 153 (+9) after 76 and 77. Alexis Phadungmartvorakul followed on 154 (+10), with Sarah Rincones fifth on 157 (+13).

Some regional reports described a four-stroke winning margin. NXXT's published scores are 149 and 151, a two-stroke difference. GOLFTWITT follows the organiser's final leaderboard rather than repeating the inconsistent margin.

What the victory unlocks

The US-based NXXT Women's Pro Tour provides competitive opportunities and routes towards other professional events. Winning this qualifier earned Tjan an exemption into the CLPGA Tour Championship at Mission Hills Golf Club in Haikou, China. The China LPGA Tour is part of the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings system; an entry to one event is not the same as full tour membership or an LPGA Tour card.

Indonesian publication OBGolf and Asia Golf Review describe the 27-year-old as having turned professional in 2025 before a lengthy injury absence. OBGolf also reports that she balances her golf ambitions with a job at an IT company. On her return to tournament golf, a first professional victory offers tangible progress rather than merely a promising performance.

Geographical distinction matters: the competition was played in Florida, USA; Tjan represents Indonesia; the qualification reward is a start in China. These are three different facts.
