A new owner for a Tampa Bay course
Heritage Golf Group announced on 26 October 2026 that it had acquired Fox Hollow Golf Club from the Creighton family. The club is located at 10050 Robert Trent Jones Parkway in Trinity, Florida, northwest of Tampa. This is the purchase of an established 18-hole golf facility, not a new-course opening or the completion of a reconstruction project.
Fox Hollow becomes Heritage's 51st property across the United States and its 14th in Florida. It is the group's fourth acquisition in four months. The Club at Cheval and TPC Tampa Bay are also within ten miles, offering Heritage a concentrated regional presence. The company sees opportunities to coordinate member benefits, attract golf travellers and expand reciprocal play across its wider network.
An established Robert Trent Jones Sr. layout
Fox Hollow opened in 1994 and is associated with the final period of renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s career. Its 18 holes play to par 71, with five principal sets of tees to help golfers choose suitable playing distances. It is a semi-private operation, combining membership with access for visiting golfers rather than operating exclusively as a private members' facility.
The existing amenities include a 15,000-square-foot clubhouse, a 25-station practice range, a dedicated chipping green and practice bunker, and a 10,800-square-foot putting green. Golf instruction is available from PGA and LPGA teaching professionals. That mix gives beginners room to practise their short game while offering experienced players more structured preparation before a round.
What Heritage intends to change
According to the buyer's announcement, initial capital improvements are scheduled to begin during the first week of ownership. The immediate focus is the condition of the golf course, including overseeding to improve turf presentation and playability heading into Florida's peak season.
A larger renovation has not yet been approved. Heritage says it will evaluate longer-term opportunities with reference to course needs, management priorities and member feedback. No final construction budget, architect-led redesign, course closure schedule or completion date was published. It would therefore be inaccurate to describe the entire course as under reconstruction or to claim any greens or bunkers have already been rebuilt.
What visitors should know
Heritage says Fox Hollow will continue welcoming members, local players and travelling guests. Its announcement specifically describes Fox Hollow and TPC Tampa Bay as accessible to the public, and it does not announce a change to fully private access.
For golfers, the immediate news is a change of ownership and a near-term turf-management programme. Details about tee-time reservations, possible maintenance disruptions and prices should still be confirmed directly with the club. Any future redesign should be treated as a proposal until the operator publishes a definite plan.
