A tour card secured, but an overall title not yet won. On 28 October, one day before the HotelPlanner Tour season finale, Denmark's Hamish Brown is in a relatively comfortable but still demanding position. His return to the DP World Tour in 2027 is guaranteed. The Road to Mallorca No. 1 title, however, remains undecided. In a fresh interview with the tour, Brown explained why he intends to focus on his own golf rather than spend four rounds calculating what everyone else might do.

Victory at the Hangzhou Open took Brown to the top of the standings on 1,262 ranking points. His lead is 85 points over Sweden's Christofer Blomstrand and 116 over the Netherlands' Lars van der Vight. These figures measure the season-long Road to Mallorca ranking; they are not stroke scores. Both challengers have won twice this season, and either could still influence the overall result at the final tournament.

A different final from 2024. Brown also arrived at Alcanada two years ago with promotion already secured, having won the Hainan Classic, and eventually finished tied ninth. This time he reached the top of the rankings through a win in Hangzhou immediately before the finale. The Dane has discussed the mental demands of professional golf openly, including the need to avoid emotional reactions that can disrupt the remaining holes after a frustrating moment.

He is careful not to confuse leading the standings with having already won them. His final position depends on the performances of those chasing him as well as his own four rounds. His plan is to approach the week with composure and accept what he cannot control.

The stakes at Alcanada. The Grand Final is scheduled for 29 October to 1 November at Club de Golf Alcanada, Port d'Alcúdia, Spain. A field of 45 golfers will compete for 15 DP World Tour cards for 2027, although the top seven on the season's ranking have already secured promotion. The winner of the event will earn 640 Road to Mallorca ranking points. There is also a €500,000 prize fund; the prize money and ranking-points systems are separate.

Brown therefore begins with an advantage many competitors would welcome: no danger of losing his already-secured card, but a genuine chance of taking the season-long crown. No Grand Final rounds had been played at publication time; the numbers reported here are pre-tournament rankings, not scores from the event.
