Foresight+ replaces the FSX era: one launch-monitor ecosystem, with a new cost of simulation

Foresight+ unites simulator play and launch-monitor analysis under one account, but virtual courses and GSPro access may carry extra charges. We examine the facts.

Foresight Sports is not announcing a new method of measuring ball impact. It is changing what golfers can do with the numbers after their launch monitor captures a shot. On September 21, 2026, parent company Revelyst launched Foresight+, a connected software ecosystem linking Foresight Premier on Windows PCs with the Foresight mobile app. For golfers who already own expensive measurement hardware, software access can matter nearly as much as camera specifications.

One workspace instead of two FSX applications

Foresight Premier takes over the principal roles previously split between FSX Play, the simulator, and FSX Pro, the professional analysis program. Its advertised capabilities include a revised visual engine, updated ball-flight physics, full rounds with multiple tee choices, stroke-by-stroke scoring, improved green contours, pin distances and elevation information, and several putting modes. These are manufacturer-described software improvements. No published head-to-head accuracy study is supplied in the announcement, so claims of greater realism should not be confused with independently measured superiority.

The more structural change is account-based access. Instead of treating each connected device as a separate software island, Foresight+ ties a membership to the golfer. Foresight says a player who practices with one compatible monitor at home and another at the range can use the same membership and maintain a connected history. This is especially relevant to coaches, fitters and owners of more than one device. Compatibility should still be checked for each model and workflow.

The real subscription arithmetic

Foresight's current US price table starts with a free tier offering basic ball and club views and a ten-session history. Silver is $199 per year and adds unlimited history, dispersion tools, practice drills and eligibility to buy virtual course access. Gold costs $599 per year, adding swing video, multiple player profiles, club comparisons, course overlays and third-party integration options. Crucially, a virtual-course library is not automatically included: Course Pass costs another $295 annually and Course Pass Pro another $595 annually.

The distinction matters for users considering GSPro. The official FAQ says third-party software access requires Gold; GSPro itself needs a separate subscription. Memberships renew annually unless cancelled, and the advertised 30-day trial for new hardware requires a payment card. What looks like a simple move to one ecosystem can therefore produce several distinct recurring charges.

Do existing FSX owners lose their software?

According to the company's published FAQ and launch release, perpetual FSX Play, FSX Pro and FSX 2020 licences continue to work. Premier is the next-generation option, not proof that the old hardware stops collecting reliable measurements. Before moving, users should confirm device support, entitlements for previously purchased courses, how historical sessions carry over, any upgrade-specific pricing and third-party access rules.

Why this matters

The significant innovation is continuity between measured shots, practice sessions and simulator rounds rather than an unverified leap in sensor accuracy. Foresight+ may simplify a fragmented workflow, but improved graphics are not the same thing as validated physics, and subscription economics can outweigh interface gains. Golfers should compare the full annual cost against the training features they will actually use.
