Record participation across Moravia
The Czech Republic's Regionální Moravská Tour Mládeže (RMTM), or Moravian Youth Golf Tour, has concluded its 2026 season with its strongest participation figures in four years. According to a report published by the Czech Golf Federation (Česká golfová federace, ČGF) on 23 October, the circuit held 27 tournaments across 37 competitive rounds. 331 golfers from 36 clubs accounted for 2,128 tournament starts. Starts are appearances, not distinct players: a competitor may enter multiple events.
The tour's average field grew from 53 to 59 players per tournament year on year. The figures illustrate how a regional network of competitions can give young golfers a consistent pathway into competitive play without relying exclusively on major national championships.
UAX Golf Tour and ranking opportunities
The RMTM's main component, UAX Golf Tour, completed its third season with 18 events, including World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)-eligible tournaments at Ostravice and Šilheřovice. Across the broader RMTM calendar, there were three WAGR events in 2026. Regular UAX tournaments excluding WAGR events averaged 74 competitors, compared with 63 in 2025 and 61 in 2024.
Other events in the wider programme took place around Moravia, including Rožnov, Ropice and Kravaře. Two “Fotr & Syn” (Father & Son) events at Ostravice and Kaskáda added an intergenerational dimension to the series.
Kaskáda final attracts 100 juniors
A total of 100 players took part in the UAX season finale at Golf Resort Kaskáda near Brno, with 65 having met the requirement to compete in at least five earlier tournaments. Czech professional Sára Kousková attended as a guest to encourage and meet the juniors; she was not a competitor in the final.
The overall 2026 champions
David Šmerda (GC Austerlitz) won age group A, 7–12, with 2,422 ranking points and also topped his category in the UAX standings and final. David Novák (Park GC Ostrava) led group B, ages 13–14, on 2,074 points, while Sofie Peterková (GC Kšírovka) claimed group C, ages 15–18, with 1,760 points. Those figures are season-ranking points, not golf scores.
Why the figures matter
The combination of local fixtures, club participation and WAGR-level tournaments creates a progression route for emerging golfers in the Czech Republic. The participation figures come from the national federation's account, rather than an independently audited dataset. Geographically, this is a story about Czech Moravia, not a tournament held abroad.
