Bermuda Championship loses entire Sunday to high winds as PGA TOUR weighs Monday finish
The PGA TOUR has called off all Sunday play in Bermuda after gusts topped 40 mph. Smotherman and Power remain tied at the top while a Monday finish is still undecided.

25 October 2026. The Butterfield Bermuda Championship will see no final-round shots played on Sunday. The PGA TOUR called off the day's entire schedule at Port Royal Golf Course after wind gusts exceeded 40 mph and conditions showed no sign of improving.
Tournament officials had moved the planned tee times forward in an effort to beat the worst of the weather. That precaution was not enough: no groups were able to start. Initial delays were followed by a decision from the PGA TOUR Rules Committee to abandon Sunday's play altogether. Importantly, the announcement did not declare the event complete after 54 holes.
What happens next? The TOUR said it would provide an update on the possibility of playing Monday by 5 p.m. Bermuda local time on Sunday, 25 October. At the time of the announcement, a Monday finish remained under consideration rather than confirmed. There is therefore no winner or final result yet.
The leaderboard after three rounds. Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power share the lead at 16 under par. Corey Conners, Taylor Moore and Ben Silverman sit two strokes back at 14 under. Power is chasing a third PGA TOUR title; Smotherman already secured a victory earlier this month at the Bank of Utah Championship.
The disruption matters well beyond Sunday's trophy ceremony. The autumn PGA TOUR schedule plays a decisive part in determining playing privileges for the next season, with FedExCup Fall positions particularly significant to golfers fighting to retain their cards. Any change in when or whether the final round can be completed will therefore have consequences for the wider field.
The immediate priority is weather safety. A further official update, not speculation about a Monday start time, will determine the next step.
