The 2026 Wyndham Championship concludes on Sunday, Aug. 9, with the final round at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina. This event marks the end of the PGA Tour's regular season, with significant implications for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

The Race for the Playoffs and the Title

Co-leader Beau Hossler entered the week at 122nd in the FedEx Cup standings, making a win at the Wyndham Championship his only path to the postseason. After impressive rounds of 61, 67, and 66, Hossler is tied for the lead heading into Sunday's final round. He needs another strong performance to secure his first career PGA Tour win and qualify for the playoffs.

Michael Brennan, who started the tournament at 105th in the FedEx Cup race, can only advance by finishing in a three-way tie for second or better. Brennan has been in contention in each of the last two tournaments but has yet to close on Sunday. He is focusing on the present but acknowledges the significant boost a win would provide.

“It would be huge. I mean, I would be playing in Memphis next week,” Brennan said. “I saw on the board projected with a win I would move to 47, which would be inside 50 and give me a good chance at staying there the following week. See, I’m already starting to think ahead to the BMW, and that’s a problem. We still have so much golf to play tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”

Tom Kim's Resurgence

One shot off the lead is Tom Kim, whose third-round 65 propelled him into contention. Kim has a chance to win his second tournament of the season and his second Wyndham Championship title. He previously won the Wyndham Championship in 2022 and captured the Scottish Open last month. After a challenging 2025 season, Kim feels he has returned to his top form.

“My first win feels like a long time ago,” Kim said. “It’s only been four years, but a lot of things have happened. I came into this week when I won as — I still wasn’t a member and a win got me into the playoffs and it became my rookie season. Being 20 years old and winning and being 24 and having four wins on Tour, there’s definitely a lot of bumps along the way, but I’ve learned so much. And if I could go back and tell myself, I’d just say the world’s ahead of me, and I still feel that way. I’m still learning a lot, still trying to grow. It’s only been four years, but it feels like it’s been a decade.”

Kim will tee off at 1:45 p.m. ET alongside Alex Smalley. Hossler and Brennan will go off at 1:55 p.m.
