A Peruvian junior wins in Ecuador
The 25th Copa Enrique Santos Córdova concluded in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on 25 October 2026. Among the standout performances was a convincing victory by Peru's Victoria San Martín, representing Los Inkas Golf Club, in the mixed 10-year age division at Guayaquil Country Club. She completed three rounds in 208 strokes, eight under par, to win by 24 strokes.
The distinction matters: the championship took place in Ecuador, while the winning golfer was part of the Peruvian contingent. The Peruvian Golf Federation reported her result on 25 October, and the host club's official tournament register independently identifies Victoria San Martín as a Peruvian entrant in the relevant category.
A closing 66 seals the title
San Martín finished with an impressive final round of 66, six under the round's par, leaving Bianca González of Ecuador in second place, 24 strokes behind. Her three-round aggregate was 208 (−8) against an aggregate par of 216.
These are stroke-play totals, not points in a team competition. The official summary does not provide a hole-by-hole account of San Martín's scoring, so it would be misleading to infer a particular number of birdies from the eight-under total.
How Peru's other competitors fared
In the women's open division, Alexa Vegas of Los Inkas Golf Club finished fourth on 222 strokes (+6), with rounds of 74, 71 and 77. Tiffany Moon of Guatemala won the category on 216 (even par), six strokes ahead of Vegas.
Fellow Los Inkas player María Gracia Galdós placed seventh in the women's open on 228 (+12) and fourth in the girls' pre-junior classification. In the mixed 12-year age division, Joaquín Prado of Lima Golf Club secured third place on 226 (+10).
The Los Inkas Golf Club also led the Peruvian clubs in the separate aggregate-score club standings, finishing eighth. The club pairing included Vegas and Galdós. The methodology used for that competition is distinct from the players' three-round individual totals and should not be conflated with them.
A broader picture of junior development
The results reflect participation from several Peruvian clubs, including Los Inkas, Lima Golf Club, Country Club de Villa, Country Club La Planicie and Arequipa Golf Club. San Martín's clear victory was Peru's headline achievement, while the additional top finishes show how younger players are gaining international competitive experience across different age divisions.
