Two-time major champion Jon Rahm is set to return to the DP World Tour. As reported by Kevin Cunningham for GOLF.com, the Spaniard has committed to play in next month’s Abu Dhabi Championship, scheduled for November 5-8 at Yas Links in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. This marks his first competitive appearance since his departure from LIV Golf. Last week, in court proceedings regarding LIV Golf’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Rahm’s legal team declared the terms proposed by the league for the future of the tour to be “unacceptable,” confirming he would not participate in the proposed “LIV 2.0” circuit in 2027. With an immediate return to the PGA Tour not an option, Rahm’s primary path involves playing on the DP World Tour full time. This move comes shortly after the DP World Tour announced that any player signing with LIV 2.0 would be banned from tour events in 2027, effectively ending their eligibility for the European Ryder Cup team. Rahm, who has secured 10 DP World Tour victories throughout his career, has not claimed a title on the tour since his 2023 Masters win. Following the Abu Dhabi Championship, the golfer is widely expected to compete at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, which begins on November 12 at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
