Inside the greatest golf clubhouses in America: a video tour of 5 iconic designs

In this video tour, we'll introduce you to five of the most iconic golf clubs in America. Each possesses impressive design and unique stories that reflect the spirit of this sport.

We start with Shinnecock Hills, which opened its doors in 1892. This is not just a club, but a place regarded as the first golf clubhouse in the United States. Architect Stanford White created a building that harmoniously integrates with the surrounding landscape, providing stunning views of the course and the Atlantic Ocean.

At Oakmont, one of the most well-known clubs in the country, we wandered through halls adorned with priceless memorabilia, discovering wooden benches in the locker room marked by the spikes of legends such as Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus. This club has hosted a record ten U.S. Open tournaments.

Sleepy Hollow, located in the Hudson Valley, also found elegance, beginning its life as a Vanderbilt mansion. We dove into the history of this club and its elegant clubhouse.

Next, we will

Finally, we’ll visit Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, where architect Bob Bacon shares his thoughts on a masterpiece that erases the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. We’ll also take a look at the modern club The Bridge on Long Island, whose unique architecture often surprises and breaks conventional norms.

Our videos do more than showcase the features of these clubhouses; they tell the stories and events that have taken place within their walls. Although we have yet to produce a dedicated video for Shinnecock Hills, you can watch our overview of this legendary place here.
