Scottie Scheffler, the leading golfer in the world and number one in the global ranking, has decided to make a special contribution to the development of golf among the youth of North Texas. Inspired by the long-standing support and mentorship of his coach Randy Smith, Scheffler has initiated the creation of the "Randy Smith Tour" — a new competition for young golfers in the Dallas area.

Last week, the Northern Texas PGA announced the creation of this tournament, which will serve as a starting platform for children aged 6 to 12. Thanks to the support of Scottie and his wife Meredith Scheffler, participation in the tournament will be free for all children.

"This tournament is about giving kids the same chance that Randy gave me," Scottie Scheffler shared in an official statement. "He taught me that golf is not just about points. It's about character building, respect, and the people who accompany you along the way. Meredith and I are excited to pass this legacy on."

The first season of the tournament will include 10-12 events, where children will compete in foursomes under the guidance of high school students. It is planned that by 2027, the tournament will expand to 20 or more events. The tournament will feature a non-competitive aspect, focusing on teamwork and the fundamentals of tournament golf.

The tournament logo features a caricature depicting Smith and Scheffler at the start of their journey together. Each event will conclude with an ice cream party for the participants and their families, becoming a pleasant tradition and part of the tournament's friendly atmosphere.
