Swiss professional golfer Cédric Gugler has been temporarily suspended from participating in HotelPlanner Tour tournaments due to ethical violations. The incident occurred at a competition in the Czech Republic, where Gugler was disqualified after the first round for repeated rule infractions on the green. According to the European Tour Group, an independent disciplinary committee found Gugler's actions to be inconsistent with the tour's code of conduct and ethical standards. As a result, Gugler is banned from participating in the first ten tournaments of the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour season, starting with the SDC Open in South Africa on January 29. This incident has also negatively impacted his reputation. In the 2025 season, Gugler participated in 18 HotelPlanner Tour tournaments, placing 166th in the overall standings and earning less than $4,000.
