A public golf course in Wisconsin’s Northwoods is preparing for a new chapter. Rondele Ranch has announced the acquisition of Pinewood Golf Club in Harshaw and outlined a program of improvements for 2027. Local station WJJQ reported the announcement on October 26, 2026, including comments from Rondele Ranch owner Bob Chadwell. The reporting does not establish the transaction’s exact closing date or purchase price.
A new clubhouse and year-round practice. The plans call for a clubhouse with views of the first, ninth, tenth and eighteenth holes, providing event space for golf outings, weddings and banquets with capacity for up to 150 guests. Indoor golf simulators are also planned. In a region where winter sharply limits outdoor play, simulators could expand opportunities for practice beyond the normal golf season. Detailed architectural drawings, construction phases and a firm opening date have not yet been made public.
Investment in the course itself. The 2027 work is expected to include a new or upgraded irrigation system, improvements to teeing grounds, and cart-path upgrades. Irrigation infrastructure directly affects turf consistency and maintenance, while tees and cart paths shape the everyday playing experience. Nothing in the verified reports indicates a complete architectural rerouting of the 18-hole course.
Will golf continue during the work? According to the announcement relayed by WJJQ, the existing clubhouse will remain in use and all 18 holes are intended to stay open during the 2027 season. That is the announced operational plan, rather than a guarantee against individual-day restrictions. General manager and PGA professional Kyle Christian and superintendent Tyler Nehls are expected to remain in their roles.
Pinewood’s official website lists the facility at 9000 Pinewood Valley Road, Harshaw, Wisconsin 54529, and describes public play, practice facilities and a Northwoods landscape. The story matters because the proposed investment combines core playing conditions with hospitality and off-season access rather than focusing solely on a new building. As of October 27, no verified total construction budget or firm clubhouse completion date was available.
