Author Jessica Marksbury shares her delight with Lusso Cloud slides, which have quickly become her favorite everyday footwear. Despite initial skepticism, these models turned out to be so comfortable that the author hasn't taken them off for a week.

From Skepticism to Complete Delight

"I can admit, I was skeptical of the slides trend," Marksbury writes. "Despite seeing them everywhere, writing about their ubiquity, and even buying them for my kids, I had never worn a pair of slides myself, and I didn’t really understand what all the fuss was about. When it comes to casual footwear, I’ve always been more of a flip-flop or platform-heel person. Crocs — even the sparkly ones — never really appealed to me."

When the opportunity arose to try a few styles from Lusso Cloud, the author was prepared to feel the same way about them as she had about any other slide: "I could appreciate them in theory, but would likely never choose to add them into my footwear rotation. How wrong I was!"

One week in since receiving the shoes, and not a day has gone by where she hasn’t worn her Lusso Clouds. "They’re simply that wonderful!" she exclaims.

Not Golf Shoes, But "Golf-Adjacent"

It should be noted that Lusso Clouds are not golf shoes. They’re more like wear-everywhere-but-the-course shoes. However, the author considers them "golf-adjacent," as they are suitable for wear both to and from the course. And believe me, you’ll want to wear them!

The author tested three models: Scenario, Pelli, and Rosa. Each of these models is unisex and available in both men’s and women’s sizes, in different colors and, in some cases, materials.

Scenario Slide – The author calls these her go-tos for errands and walks. They look a bit rugged, but have a smooth yet durable feel. The author was impressed by the snug fit and arch support the shoe offers right out of the box. Perforations on the top provide ventilation, while keeping toes protected. The IP-EVA material is lightweight and waterproof, and the sole has integrated traction for grip on slippery surfaces.

Pelli – A model the author describes as offering a "more elevated look." In Jet Black/Smooth Leather, they were suitable even for attending Bingo Night at her kids' school. This model features the signature 360° Comfort and proprietary Triple Stack Technology: three layers of cushioning that provide great bounce-back. The breathable performance mesh lining is soft to the touch.

Rosa – The model with the thinnest sole of the three, making it perfect for pool or beach wear.

Comfort and Style from the Founders

All three pairs of Lusso Cloud slides have a slipper-like fit, which was the intention of the founders. Lusso Cloud was founded by John Buscemi and Rob Dyrdek in 2020 with a goal of creating a line of hotel-style slippers that could actually hold up on the streets. According to the author, they succeeded.

The author notes that despite their simplicity and understated design, Lusso Cloud slides spark curiosity in others. She has been asked about them no less than three times in the past few days. Perhaps it's the signature square perforations, the unique look, or the cool, flexible material – likely all of the above.
