The 25th season starts on Brijuni on 31 October
Golf klub Pula has announced the 25th Winter Golf League (25. Zimska golf liga) for 2026–27. In a notice dated 23 October 2026, the Croatian club confirmed a seven-round schedule beginning on Saturday, 31 October, at the historic Brijuni golf course off the Istrian coast. The planned finale returns to Brijuni on 20 March 2027.
This is an amateur club series with venues in Croatia, Slovenia and Italy, rather than a single-day tournament. The programme gives local players a competitive framework throughout the colder months and links courses across the northern Adriatic.
Seven rounds, three countries
The club's provisional calendar lists the following venues and dates:
- 31 October 2026 — Brijuni, Croatia.
- 7 November — Diners, near Ljubljana, Slovenia.
- 5 December — Grado, Italy.
- 19 December — Lipica, Slovenia.
- 16 January 2027 — Trst/Trieste, Italy.
- 27 February — Savudrija, Croatia.
- 20 March — Brijuni, Croatia, for the final round.
Weather may force changes to the venues or dates. The listed Diners venue corresponds to Diners CUBO Golf Ljubljana at Smlednik, near Slovenia's capital. Tee times and individual event entry lists are to be released by the organiser.
Competition format
Each round is scheduled over 18 holes in Stableford format. Stableford is a points-based scoring system; those scores must not be confused with a player's gross number of strokes. The league offers team and individual competitions, with a maximum of five registered players per team. A participant cannot represent more than one team during the series, and individuals without a team may also play.
Prizes are planned for men's and women's gross divisions, as well as three handicap-based net divisions: 0–18.4, 18.5–30.4 and 30.5–54.0. Teams must compete in at least five of the seven rounds to qualify for the season-long team title. The main notice contains some inconsistent wording on how team points are aggregated; this report therefore does not present a disputed formula as settled.
Entry fees and deadlines
The round entry fee is €20, plus the host course's green fee at its applicable rate, with a club discount offered to league participants. The entry fee covers season-end prizes, refreshments at each round and a closing meal for players taking part in at least five rounds.
Season registration closed on 27 October, before this report was written. Separate round notices are scheduled for publication one week ahead, with entries for individual rounds normally closing at 18:00 on the preceding Thursday. This is a timetable, not a claim that late registration remains available.
A regional winter golf circuit
Reaching a 25th edition is a noteworthy milestone for an amateur golf club in Istria. The programme connects Brijuni's historic coastal golf course with venues in Slovenia and north-eastern Italy, extending organised golf well beyond the summer tourism season. The 31 October start is still in the future: there are no completed results, confirmed winners or attendance totals to report.
