The BMW Championship is the second event in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, determining the players who will advance to the season-ending Tour Championship. This year, the tournament is being held at the historic Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, known for its challenging fairways and fast greens. The absence of a cut after the second round means players can focus on aggressive play, aiming to improve their FedEx Cup standings without the fear of an early exit.

Implications for Players

For many players, like Rory McIlroy, this tournament is a crucial opportunity to solidify their form before the final playoff event. A strong performance at the BMW Championship can significantly boost their chances of winning the FedEx Cup, bringing substantial prize money and prestige. Players on the bubble for the top 30 spots advancing to the Tour Championship will be playing with extra motivation to secure their place in the finale.
