According to Josh Berhow’s report for GOLF.com, the final round of the Baycurrent Classic, a PGA Tour Fall Series event in Japan, begins Saturday evening Eastern Time in the United States. The tournament is being played at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama.
Michael Brennan, Zach Bauchou and Jacob Bridgeman are tied for the lead at 13 under after 54 holes. It is only the second three-way tie for the lead after 54 holes this season. Major champions Adam Scott and Justin Thomas are one shot back at 12 under.
Defending champion Xander Schauffele remains in contention. He is 9 under and four shots behind after shooting a 6-under 65 in the third round. His day began with a bizarre six-hole stretch featuring no pars: two birdies, two eagles, a bogey and a double bogey.
“It was a weird day,” Schauffele said. “Really sloppy bogey at 1 and then hit a lot of really good iron shots today. I think for the first time I felt pretty comfortable with my irons in quite some time. Hit a tap-in on 6 for eagle. Then that pin location on 4 was diabolical and somehow hit a 4-iron to pin high right and was able to make the putt for another eagle. On 5 I hit my ball in the trees left, normally OK and we couldn’t find it. Then three-putt the last. It was a lot of good, honestly, some really bad in there as well, but overall if someone told me I would shoot 65 on moving day, I would probably take it.”
The final-round broadcast on Golf Channel begins at 11 p.m. ET Saturday and concludes at 3 a.m. Sunday. It will also stream on Golfchannel.com and the Golf Channel app.
