One stroke separates the champion from two challengers
Daniela Jorge, a player associated with Spain’s Centro Nacional de Golf, won the 2026 Spanish Women’s Pitch & Putt Championship on 25 October at Golf Mistral Samaranch in Colmenar Viejo, north of Madrid. The Real Federación Española de Golf (RFEG) confirmed a 36-hole winning total of 107 strokes, one better than two runners-up.
Olaya Mínguez and María Velázquez both signed for 108, sharing second place. This was a domestic Spanish championship held on Spanish soil—not an event whose location is determined by the players’ nationalities.
How the last 18 holes unfolded
Jorge and Velázquez opened with matching 51s (three under par) to share the first-round lead. Jorge followed with 56 (+2). It was not the lowest score on day two, but it was enough to safeguard a one-shot victory with a total of 107.
Mínguez, representing Club de Golf Altoreal, climbed into a share of second after 53 and 55. Velázquez, from Campo de Golf Las Américas in the Canary Islands, closed with 57 after her opening 51. She arrived chasing an especially notable milestone: a third consecutive national title, having won the 2024 and 2025 editions. A third straight win proved elusive.
The final scoreboard, verified against the federation’s match report, was: 1. Daniela Jorge, 51–56 (107); T2. Olaya Mínguez, 53–55 (108); T2. María Velázquez, 51–57 (108).
Why the championship matters
Pitch & putt is a short-course competitive discipline where approach accuracy, distance control and putting play an outsized role. The Colmenar Viejo event also served as the last counting tournament on Spain’s 2026 national Pitch & Putt ranking calendar. Its outcome offers a domestic story beyond the international tours: a tightly contested women’s title and a new champion overcoming a two-time defending winner.
