A construction closure begins at Quail Point

Quail Point Golf Course, a public nine-hole facility in Medford, Oregon, has posted an official closure notice for the period 26 October 2026 to 12 May 2027. The golf club describes the closure as being for construction, rather than routine winter maintenance. Golfers planning a round in southern Oregon should therefore not rely on older tee-time information while the work is underway.

The date 12 May 2027 is the final date specified in the notice. It should not be interpreted as a guaranteed first day of public play: the operator has not separately verified which day bookings will resume, or whether any facilities will reopen in stages.

The redevelopment behind the change

Quail Point sits within Rogue Valley Manor, a non-profit retirement community. The owner's official Fairway Village redevelopment programme calls for 18 new cottages alongside a replacement clubhouse with a restaurant and sales office. The developer expects construction to begin in late 2026 and says all 18 residences have already been reserved.

City of Medford planning documents supply an important detail for golf architecture followers. The proposed residential development uses the site's existing ninth-hole area, and the submitted plan includes a replacement par-three hole to preserve a full nine-hole course. This is a proposal described in planning material, not a verified final post-construction scorecard.

What it means for public access

The club describes Quail Point as a course for the public, with a short format popular for casual rounds and local leagues. A closure lasting into spring will interrupt ordinary visitor bookings as well as organised play. Golfers should be careful not to confuse the Medford course with the Quail Course at Hogan Park in Midland, Texas, which is a separate venue with a different reopening timetable.

Anyone considering a visit once construction is scheduled to end should ask the pro shop whether play has actually resumed, if all nine holes are available, and what arrangements apply to the rebuilt clubhouse. There is no verified post-renovation green-fee list in the sources checked.

Where to find the course

The club gives its address as 1200 Mira Mar Avenue, Medford, OR 97504, while its directions page also references 2600 Rogue Valley Manor Drive. The listed telephone number is +1 541-857-7000.

Confirmed: official closure period 26 October 2026–12 May 2027; 18-cottage Fairway Village project; a proposed replacement par-three in the city's planning submission. Not yet confirmed: actual first playable date, final routing and post-construction tariffs.
