China's Ruoning Yin gave Shanghai's golf spectators another home victory on 18 October 2026. At Sheshan Golf Club, she won the Buick LPGA Shanghai with a four-round total of 277, 11 under par. South Korea's Hye-Jin Choi finished one shot behind, and her compatriot Amy Yang was third at eight under. The result was Yin's seventh career LPGA Tour title and her second Buick LPGA Shanghai victory after 2024.

How the lead changed

Choi went into the final round two strokes ahead of Yin. The Chinese player opened with a birdie but dropped a shot at the fourth. By the tenth the two were level, and they remained tied through the 15th. The decisive moment came on the 16th green: Yin made a birdie putt of about four feet, moving ahead by one. Choi birdied the 18th but could not close the remaining gap.

Yin's rounds were 68, 74, 67 and 68. She played her final 36 holes in nine under, an unusually strong closing stretch on a demanding course. Her Sunday card featured five birdies and one bogey. According to the LPGA's tournament recap, she hit 55 of 72 greens in regulation and shared the event's birdie lead at 18 with Amy Yang and Alison Lee. The figures show that the win was built on repeated good approach play and scoring chances, not just one spectacular late putt.

Why a home title matters

The tournament carried a $3.2 million purse, with $480,000 going to the champion. Winning with friends, family and home supporters watching gave the result particular significance for Yin. Shanghai also forms part of the LPGA's late-season Asian swing, but these are results from the 15–18 October event itself; they should not be confused with subsequent tournaments.

There was a development for the next generation of Chinese players too. Liu Yujie was the event's leading amateur, according to the Shanghai Songjiang district government's report. It was an opportunity for a local amateur to test her game against a field of established tour professionals. There was no separate junior championship at Sheshan: the amateur distinction was awarded within the LPGA tournament.

Final podium: Ruoning Yin, 277 (−11); Hye-Jin Choi, 278 (−10); Amy Yang, 280 (−8). Venue: Sheshan Golf Club, Shanghai, People's Republic of China, 15–18 October 2026.
