Bryson DeChambeau is scheduled to compete at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa from 3–6 December 2026. His entry is confirmed by the DP World Tour event organisers. This is not a sudden announcement that the two-time U.S. Open champion is changing tours: his place in the field was initially announced in August, and the organisers reaffirmed his appearance on 21 October.
What is confirmed. The event will be staged at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, where DeChambeau will make his Nedbank Golf Challenge debut. The tournament is often referred to as “Africa’s Major”. According to an article published by Golf Monthly on 22 October, it will also be his first non-major DP World Tour appearance since 2022. That is a specific tournament commitment, not proof that he has secured full DP World Tour membership or agreed to a 2027 schedule.
Who else is playing? The event’s initial group of confirmed names includes defending champion Kristoffer Reitan, Justin Rose, Casey Jarvis and Marco Penge. Reitan returns after winning the 2025 title by a single stroke. DeChambeau and Rose add considerable international interest to what is scheduled to be the 44th edition of the competition.
The LIV Golf question. DeChambeau has been a prominent LIV Golf player, but the league is undergoing financial restructuring and looking toward a proposed LIV Golf 2.0 format. Golf Monthly, citing ESPN, reported on 22 October that DeChambeau remained supportive of the relaunch and was working on its development. This reported position is distinct from the confirmed South African entry. Neither the DP World Tour announcement nor that report establishes a final personal commitment by DeChambeau to LIV 2.0 in 2027.
A deadline, not a verdict. Reporting as of 22 October identified 25 October as a target deadline for player commitments linked to LIV 2.0's prospective funding arrangement, while also noting the possibility of an extension. It would therefore be inaccurate to treat that deadline alone as a definitive decision on the league's future or to assume that DeChambeau has chosen one tour over another.
An updated course awaits. Organisers have also detailed substantial changes at Gary Player Country Club ahead of the tournament, including work on the opening hole and practice facilities. The refreshed layout adds an element of adaptation for players with experience of Sun City, rather than making their previous results an automatic guide to this edition.
What happens next. The reliable present fact is DeChambeau's place in the 3–6 December field. The status of LIV 2.0, his wider 2027 playing schedule and the final tournament entry list remain separate matters to confirm when official information becomes available.
